About J. Paule's Fenn Inn
Your Hostess, Ms. Paulette, welcomes you to our Southern Michigan bed and breakfast! A destination for your relaxation and fun.
I bought the Fenn House in 1984, after my husband died,I moved back home and bought this very run down older home that was built in the late 1890-1910...It has been a labor of love. You can feel the good energy in the house as soon as you walk-in. After 2 years of fixing, in 1986, I got a variance to start a B&B, they were not an industry yet in the United States, as a mater of fact their was no Insurance set up to cover such a thing. Didn't take the insurance companies long to figure that one out. I started renting one room at a time until all the rooms were finely finished. We have been providing lodging accommodations in Fennville and the Saugatuck area ever since and have had people from all over the world stay with us. The inn is in a quiet country setting on 2 acres featuring lots of flower gardens with seating for quiet reading or conversation. There is an outside BBQ and picnic tables along with a fire pit for evening relaxation. The second floor has a large deck for sunning if you don't wish to fight the summer crowds at Lake Michigan. The lake is just a 10-minute drive from our B&B.
Some rooms have Jacuzzi tubs and fireplaces, some have baths that are across the hall, some have tubs and no showers and some have a Jack and Jill bath in the center of 2 rooms. You are served a full sit down breakfast every morning from 8:30-10 a.m.; coffee is on at 7 a.m. for the early risers. You will find cookies on the table and snacks on my Great grand mothers hutch. Along with wine for your relaxation after a fun day...
We are centrally located for all kinds of activities from horseback riding to canoeing, or shopping in Saugatuck, Douglas, Holland or South Haven. You can visit the many art galleries, and don't forget Antiquing! And the different parks by Lake Michigan can be found in Holland, Saugatuck and South Haven are the closest ones.
We are close to Hutchens Lake, where you can take a leisurely walk down our side road to the lake and play in the water at the boat launch. There is a small swimming area, it is also a very good lake for fishing. We have lots of room to put your boat and trailer.
Looking forward to seeing you at "J. Paule's Fenn Inn" soon.
Remember "You don't have to go far to get away"
